Mammoth Vacation
So we all survived a 7 day vacation in the motorhome up to Mammoth Lakes, June Lake specifically. We saw a lot of God's beautiful creation. It was rather fitting, the Daily Bread for Thursday was about God's Magnificients and we were able to use that example for the kiddos all week. At one point Lauren exclaimed, "this is the best thing ever!" The sites were spectacular and lots of fun. We stayed in Lone Pine Friday night and headed up 'the hill' on Saturday. We had a flat tire which was a fun experience. Hats off to my hunk of husband that changed it and had us back on the road in about 30 minutes. His comment was, "Just like Nascar." He's good, real good! That was another fun thing about our trip, everything was not just good, but real good (chuckles for any Bob Uker fans(i don't know how to spell his last name). We did a bike ride that was a challenge in itself, everything is up hill there. Lauren did her very best, but we had to turn back it was just too much for her (and the rest of us to tell the truth). Monday we went into Bodie which was neat. A real old town with everything still in tact. The school rooms still had lessons on the boards and books on the desks. Tuesday we went to Yosemite which was awesome. The kids thought it was pretty great to see trees growing out of the side of a massive rock. We attempted climbing Lambert Dome, but forgot Asher's paci so had to head back (again, saved by a kid). David and the kids opped for a more doable rock, pot hole dome. More their speed. Asher and I hung back for his feeding. Wednesday the kids just wanted to hang at camp, so we played lots of games, Uno, Monopoly and Sorry. What a great vacation. Asher didn't sleep at all at night while we were gone. I didn't figure it out until the last night. His bassanet pad is so thin it is like sleeping on a board, so i put his lamb blanket underneath the pad and he slept great. Who would have known...David and I did rather well on no sleep and busy days. This is a vacation for the books for sure! Last one of the summer is in a couple of weeks, we will head off to the beach for a week. That one I can't wait for, lots of relaxing on the schedule. Anyone is welcome to come down for a visit. Just let us know.
Asher update, he should have a tooth any day now, I can feel the tip. :-)

ok, Asher is the cutest baby on the planet. Period. End of story. Love the family photos of you by June Lake. Sharee, you and David are amazing...to not only take your own son, but include your niece and nephews on such a grand trip...they don't know how blessed they are. But I know they'll look back on all the trips you took them on with the fondest of memories.
Well, Jan was concerned with us driving, so she gave us their frequent flier tickets and bought two more. We're flying out August 19th late and staying till Sept 9th. So, we'll have to plan on getting together!!!! I'm super excited to meet Asher face to face :) We'll be staying at the CCM condo in Temecula...so not far at all!!! Woo Hoo! We'll be in Santa Barbara the weekend of the 22nd to visit my fam and Sha's wedding is the 30th. Love ya!
