9 MONTHS OLD

Nine months already, wow, it's going by pretty quick. Isaac is doing very well, he crawls everywhere and has picked up quite a bit of speed trying to catch his brother, stands up all the time and is walking along the couch and other objects. Though he does get pretty frustrated when he can't run after his brother sometimes. He has developed quite a loud opinion, especially when his brother takes a toy from him or makes him mad. He still has NOOOOOO teeth to speak of and can't really tell if any will be breaking through this year. However, that doesn't stop him from eating big people food. Like most babies, he loves french fries, but also loves his peas, sweet potatoes, toast and rolls, carrots and cheese.

Yesterday I took him to the doctor for his 9 month check up. My suspicions were correct, Isaac is longer and lighter than Asher was at 9 months. Isaac is 30 1/2 inches long, an inch longer than Asher and only weights 23.6 ounces, almost 2 lbs lighter than Asher. Funny just how different they are in both personality and body. I think they look very similar though in the 9 month pictures we took yesterday morning. Here are a few...

POST THANKSGIVING

So for a couple years now I have not made a turkey and am always so sad not to have turkey sandwiches later that weekend. So, this year I made a point to go grocery shopping when we returned from the desert (a huge accomplishment in itself, I might add) and bought a turkey and all the trimmings. We wanted to get together with the Mattfield family while they were home on furlow, so a turkey dinner I made for all. I am so very sad that these were the only pictures I got that night. It was a wonderful time hearing about what the Lord is doing and the plans they have for the future. Uncle Larry and Auntie Donna joined us too.
This is their sweet Annabelle, she is 6 months old and enjoyed jumping in Isaac's jumper. At one point Isaac was right next to her and they were talking to one another. Too cute!
2 of their 3 boys enjoying the toys
David grabbed a great shot just before Asher went up to bed. We realized we didn't have any pics of Uncle Larry with the boys.
I wish I was better about getting more pictures. Hopefully I will do better next time. We hope to see them again before they go back to Mexico in January.

RIP Squeaker

Today is a very sad day in our home. Squeaker, the worlds best cat, past away. He hasn't been well and this past weekend we had to move him out to the garage due to incontinence. He hadn't been eating in days, but was still drinking water. This morning I put a diaper out in the garage and he meowed 2 times, but I couldn't find him. This evening when David got home, he found him and Squeaker had passed away sometime today. He really was the best cat - he talked to you, strongly encouraged you to pet him and had the loudest purr I think I have ever heard. Even Uncle Larry couldn't resist him and he doesn't like cats and is allergic to them. He was also so good around the kids. They could pull on him and he wouldn't make a noise or move. It was a great 16+ years Squeaker and you will be missed greatly!

8 MONTHS OLD

Monday Isaac turned 8 months old. We grabbed a couple shots last night. All of Isaac's jammies were dirty, so I had to put a 2T sleeper on him. I think it made him look bigger than he really is around the middle. He fits in the 18 month sleepers great. As you have probably already read, he is getting around great and pulling himself up on everything. He still has no teeth to speak of at all. He and his brother are having lots of fun playing together.
I just saw that the boys are in the same outfit. Too funny, I had no idea last night when I pulled out the bigger jammies for Isaac.

Notice the orange nose has arrived...I remember people commented on Asher's too, I guess they eat a lot of orange veggies!
Fresh out of the bath...he had to have a cheese too since brother was getting to cheese!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful, family full Thanksgiving. We enjoyed visiting with the Mascari and Perea families in the early afternoon and then headed to Papa's and Granny's for a fabulous dinner. We didn't get too many pics, sorry.

Here is our Thankful Tree we made the beginning of November. We used pictures of the people in our life that we are thankful for since Asher can't read, but he knows the pictures.

Asher loves playing with the big boys and even got in on tackling them too

The traditional Turkey leg for the baby

Isaac enjoyed gumming a lot, he had some sweet potatoes too.
Asher and Papa relaxing in Papa's recliner watching some tv after a long day.
We have so much to be thankful for this year and years past too. We are surrounded by wonderful family and friends. We have a warm, comfy home and food in our fridge, daddy has a great job and I get to stay at home and so much more! Hope your Thanksgiving was great too, you were in our thoughts and prayers!

Desert Trip

We had a blast on our desert trip. Asher loved being so free and running in the sand. He really enjoyed all the big kids and adults. Asher rode the 50 for the first time too! We weren't able to get any pics of the 50 ride since Daddy and Momma were running along side him, but our fellow campers thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment! The weather was beautiful and we had lots of fun. We enjoyed the fellowship and I was able to get in a ride, first time in over 2 years...I have been pregnant 2 desert seasons in a row.

We think we have finally figured out what 'a kers' means in Asher english...the girls. Ever since Asher started talking, his words would be proceeded with ahh or ahhh la and then the word. So, since we have been home, whenever he sees a young girl, especially with blonde hair, he says a kers. So, we think he is saying 'the girls' which makes sense to me since I would ask him if he wanted to go see 'the girls', Kendra, Jenna, Taylor and Selah were his besties out there.
We opted to keep the boys in jammies since it was so cold the morning we left.
Asher sleeping on the way out...

Isaac hanging out in brothers seat for part of the ride. Getting close to Glamis the boys rode in my lap for a better view.

Loving the sand...
Asher enjoying running free
Playing with the big boys
Isaac's first quad ride
8 months old and riding like a pro
Loving the outdoors
Preparing for his first quad ride alone
Moving right up to the 80 forget the little 50

He climbed up all on his own Here we go...
We were amazed at how well Asher did in a 'big bed'. We put up the railing and he never got out and slept great.
Isaac playing in brother's bed.

One day was a little windy so we played in the trailer.
So all weekend anytime David or I got near Asher while he was playing or with someone, he would protest and fit. By the end of the weekend, David and I were feeling pretty unloved, but MAN OH MAN, did this make up for it. As much as it killed my back, I soaked in every last minute of this sweet time. From the border check outside of West Moreland to 79 Asher was on my lap and fell asleep on me. This boy never sleeps on us any more and hasn't since before he was 1 years old. I will cherish this moment forever. It made the car sick Isaac clean up even easier. Yes, we learned on this trip that Isaac is our car sickness child. I was prepared for the sickness on the way home...I put him in his highchair so most of the mess was contained on the tray and the rest was in the seat.

My sweet, sweet boy!
What a great trip we had and are excited and praying we can make it back out for the post Christmas trip.

...And He Stands

So as I posted the other day, we thought he would stand very soon. Little did I realize it would only be later that same day. As you can see he is in the same jammies, he stood on his own only hours after crawling. The puzzle pieces were quite the enticement...he loves to gum them.He has been getting around very well and is having all kinds of fun in the process.

PS. I will post our desert pics and Thanksgiving pics soon.

Isaac is Officially Crawling

..and getting into trouble I might add. He really started crawling yersterday, but only to Daddy and I never saw him go more than a hand forward. It was a busy day, so I was hopeful for today. Sure enough, I was vacuuming this morning and was just finishing up, turned around and there he was right under foot. Here is a picture I took this morning. He came from over by the slider where their toys are to over by me at the desk and where the Pooh plane lives.

He is getting around better and better. Very fun to see the expressions on his face when he finds something new. He came over to the desk again while I was preparing their lunches and proceeded to pull open the doors. I pulled him away and told him NO, which was followed with him screaming in protest, but shortly after I left him, he stopped the screaming and proceeded to crawl back over to the doors. Oh, the testing we will go, the testing we will go. Fun new stage though, so excited! Walking I think will come quickly for him. He has been pulling himself up to his knees for almost a month now. I don't remember Asher ever really going to his knees, just crawling and then standing. We will see.
