Last weekend was my first long outing out with Asher by myself. We did great. We went down to Granny's house for a visit. Asher got to meet Sparky, my mom's dog who did pretty well with this new squeaky toy. Sparky doesn't like it when Asher cries, but who can blame him. Here are couple of pictures I was able to grab. I am sure a longer outing will be in the neear future. We seem to be getting out more and more each week. It feels good to drive again. David and I realized a couple of weeks ago, that I hadn't driven a car in over a month.

Favorite Places...
Asher loves to look out the windows in our house especially when it is sunny. One of his most favorite places is on his changing table. He likes to look out the window and he even just likes to lay there and look around his room. Yesterday, he laid there for 30-45 minutes just looking around and talking. I laid him down to swaddle him for a little nap, he was just looking around, so went to start a load of laudry and came back to this precious picture.

I thought this was funny. The windows are tinted, so we I looked at his reflection in the window, it looked like he was laying in the street.

A Leash, I Would Never, But Straight Jackets Are Okay!

After a couple of days after being home from the hospital, I learned that Asher kept waking himself up by the flailing of his arms and the kicking of his legs in his sleep. When he is awake he is just as busy. So, I used a receiving blanket that was given to me by a friend (Thanks, Tracey Carroll!) to 'swaddle' him and he slept. The receiving blankets they make these days are for those 'little' babies that other people have, but not for my now 11.9 pound baby. Even the 2 large blankets I have can't keep our boy in...So I found these great things at Babies R Us called Swaddlers. They come complete with Velcro!!! What a life saver and a sleep maker! I know I will never hear the end of it if our son grows up to be claustrophobic, but hey at least he is sleeping...and so are we, I might add!

One Month Old
Here is Asher's one month picture with his favorite stuffy (well, maybe I should say, Daddy's favorite stuffy, if Daddy was into stuffed animals, but he is far to manly). He is also wearing his red baseball jersey in honor of Valentine's Day.

It was a special day all around. We had a surprise visit from Grams (if that's what she decides to be called) who hadn't seen Asher yet. It was great having the help, I was able to make David his favorite cookies and a nice dinner. It was nice to know I still know how to cook. I think David was glad to know that too :-)!

My First Visit with Dr. Pillai
Here are some pictures of our visit with Dr. Pillai outside of the hospital. Asher loves to make silly faces, here are some of his best! Sorry i am new to this and don't know how to rotate the pictures yet, but you can still see the great faces. He was responding to the cold, crinkly paper under him.

The 1st...
Okay, I finally did it! Here is my blog...I will give it a try and see how things work out. I hope you enjoy the pictures of our new little man. Yesterday he had his first (of many, I am sure) photo shoots. I should have the disc with almost 300 pictures by the end of the week. Asher is really looking forward to the next photo shoot with Auntie Rose...
