Asher's Birthday Partae
What a beautiful day it was...we woke up to dark weather and sure enough with lots of prayers, the Lord parted the skies and out came the sun, but as soon as we were home and having naps, the clouds came back. Thank you Lord for your gift of sunshine to celebrate your gift to us - Asher.

Thank you to all the wonderful family and friends who joined us and made this day so special for Asher - one day when he looks back at all the pictures, we know he will be blessed and feel loved by all of you. David and I are so very blessed by the awesome support system that surrounds us. We love each and every one of you.

Asher did great - he enjoyed his pizza for lunch - Momma had to through in some nutrition with pears and sweet potatos though. His cake experience was even better the second time around. He had lots of fun with all the gifts too, he wasn't too overwhelmed. I think it helped having a little assistance from his buddy Caiden. Caiden is about 5 months older than Asher and was able to show Asher how to get it done.
A wonderful day that we will remember always and Asher will be able to remember by all the cards and pictures. Thank you again for making this day so very special.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ASHER...CONTINUED
We went to the mall to have some one year pictures taken and then to lunch with Granny. The pictures were quite the undertaking. Never will I attempt that again without Daddy present...especially being pregnant. Man what a work out!! Afterward, we went to Red Robin for lunch which was such fun. They brought Asher a balloon...his first and then as we were getting ready to leave the waitress brought over a hot fudge sunday and the girls to sing to Asher. It was very special. David, Asher and I go there regularly since we split a sandwich it is very economical for us and one of the hostesses is familiar with us, so she told the waitress it was Asher's first birthday. Of course, I cried when they sang to him. He had some whip cream and then some vanilla ice cream. He has had whip cream before but the ice cream was a first. He seemed to like it...I thought it probably would feel good on his gums. Then home for naps so he'd be ready for the next round of celebration.

Granny and Papa were over for dinner and Asher's god parents, Larry and Donna Hansen came over too. Asher's favorite young lady, Landi, stopped by after work too. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the gift that was given to us! Here are some pictures from the evening.

Looking forward to Saturday, should be lots of fun with lots of family and friends.

** HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ASHER **
Oh how quickly times flies! A year ago today at 5:31pm the Lord blessed us with the most precious gift, our son Asher. He is so special in so many ways. His smile touches so many people and his personality is just a blast. He is walking and some times running now. He still has 7 teeth, but is faithfully working on 2-3 more. He is very tall, wearing 2T clothes and weighs 26lbs. He brings joy to us when we get him up in the morning or from his naps with such a bright face and warm smile. Many of you have had the opportunity to experience this too and we pray it blesses you as much as it does us. He is a 'will full' child as a dear friend so kindly put it, but we know he will go far in life with his determination and happy spirit - look out world here he comes. Stealing a phrase from a dear friend/sister. Asher makes our life LOUD AND LOVELY. I wouldn't have it any other way.

No matter what is going on in life right now all that matters today is Asher and celebrating him. May he continue to bless others and grow up to know and love his Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Soon he will be a big brother and we can't wait for that gift to arrive. Thank you Lord for all your wonderful blessings!

GOOD MORNING MOMMA!
David was on speaker phone while he and I sang 'Happy Birthday' to Asher this morning. Asher just loves his daddy and loves to hear his voice on the phone. He was talking up a storm to David this morning. So cute.

SO HAPPY

My Christmas Present
Here are some pictures from our date night last month. My most wonderful husband took me to the Mission Inn for dinner and to see the lights as my Christmas present. It was a fabulous night. We had so much fun. After dinner, we snuck...not really the waiter told us it was okay to climb the stairs...upstairs and were able to go up to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor and see the lights and the neat decorations. For dinner we sat in the courtyard and were surrounded by beautiful lights everywhere we looked. In the center was a Christmas tree that was so pretty. Dinner was fabulous and we had a great time. I pray someday to be able to stay there in one of the hotel rooms, the ones on the 4th floor just looked so plush and neat. Auntie Donna had fun too, she said next time she'll have to wear a rain coat for bath time. We are so thankful for her sacraficing her time for us. We love you Auntie!! Thank you to my great hubby for listening or should I say hearing me when I said I would love to go back to the Mission Inn and eat there when it is decorated for Christmas. You are the best and I am the most blessed woman on earth to have you as my best friend and husband. I love you!!
Firsts...
So here are some pictures from the past week or two. Today was Asher's 1 year doctors check up and here are his stats...still in the 91st percentile overall with height at 31 inches and 87th percentile and weight was 26.2 pounds at 91st percentile. He only gained 15oz. since his last check up at 9 months, but grew almost 2 inches. No wonder he is wearing 2Ts already, that boy is long/tall!

We celebrated with my mom after his check up by going to Vincenzo's which is one of my favorite Italian places here in the valley, then back home for Asher's first bubble bath. I don't know why really he hadn't had a bubble bath until now. Partly I think because David and I have such sensitive skin and Asher seems to be carrying on the gene, that I didn't want to have him have a reaction. I was never able to take bubble baths as a child. So, Costco had a twin pack of baby soap with the baby lavender bubble bath and we thought we'd give it a try. Asher had a blast.

He would pick up the toys with bubbles on them and try to pick the bubbles off, it was hilarious, one time he even picked some off and handed them to David like he does with stuff he picks up off the floor.

He also loves to splash and tonight he thought it was funny how when he splashed the bubbles would go away from them. He would splash and look down and look up and smile as if he was so smart. Cracked us up. So far no skin reaction, so hopefully we will have more fun bubbles to come. Love that hinny!!

If you saw Asher's Christmas pictures you may remember him receiving a toy tractor dump truck. Well the other morning he dropped it on his face and one of the points poked him right under the eye. So...here is his first shiner...the Momma was not too happy about that one!! Later that same morning his jammed his book into the other eye and scratched it pretty bad. I didn't take any more pictures of that one. But here is the one with the black eye. Boys, I tell you and soon I will have two. Oh my!
