A FAMILY OUTING...
David has wanted to go to Bates Nut Farm for a few weeks now. Since it is spring, he was hoping there would be some baby animals out for us to see and feed. There were only 2 little lambs, but it was fun to see Asher's response to all the animals. There were 2 small donkeys, lots of goats, sheep, chickens and super loud geese. The geese gave our noisy Asher a run for his money, but Asher just squawked loudly right back at them. A couple of ducks flew out and were walking around on the grass, so David showed Asher how to chase them. They tolerated him for a while and then chose to fly back into the enclosure. We had a great time, what a beautiful day it was too. We picked up some treats from the store and headed home. Isaac's afternoons are much better than the mornings, so it was a good afternoon for us all. Asher skipped his afternoon nap to enjoy all this fun, so it was quickly after we started home from Granny's after dinner and bath that Asher passed out with his favorite stuff animal, Jerry the girafe.

ONE MONTH OLD TODAY!!
Today, 'Tiny', as we refer to him, is one month old. He has his eyes open a lot and is more alert. He has talked to me a couple of times and last night he smiled at his daddy. I know all you nay sayers are going to tell me it was gas, but I was holding him and talking to him and David walked up beside me and Isaac looked his direction, got bright eyes and smiled. It was the cutest thing I have seen since Asher was this small. It blessed my exhausted heart lastnight! Well here is his one month picture. I will post Asher's too so you all can compare.
ISAAC

ASHER

Showing off his lump on his forhead, he is so busy and on the go so much that this kid bonks his head almost daily and on the days he doesn't, he makes up for it another day with multiple bonks.

PICTURES FROM EASTER

Here are some pictures from Easter at my mom's house. Asher caught on to hunting for eggs right away. She put little snacks in them, fish, pretzels, crasins and dried fruit. He just thought it was great. I can't until next year when we can do the resurrection eggs and cookies.

All tuckered out!
Yesterday, Asher slept in until 7:30,so we skipped the morning nap and we put him down for his afternoon nap and he slept (if at all) maybe 30-40 minutes. We had some friends over for dinner and a play date before couples study started. Asher loves playing with Caiden. They are only 5 months difference in age and play wonderfully together. We truly love hanging out with the Escalante family. All this to say, Asher was a little tuckered out. When David came upstairs when study was over, we peeked in on Asher and this is what we found.

He has a new ritual to kick/bang on the end of the crib and the wall and roll all around in his crib before drifting off to sleep, so apparently his exhaustion got the best of him. I went in and put his legs back in the crib and he was none the wiser! Happy he slept so well last night, Isaac not so much (us either for that matter)! Praying tonight is better.

ISAAC MIKA ANTHONY PEREA - MARCH 29TH, 2010

What a day it was, March 29th, 2010 - an EXTRAordinary day! Started out having contractions, different then the ones I had for the past 4 weeks, but they were not consistent, so off to work David went. Once I got up with Asher, they started to be stronger and closer together, so I called my mom, I didn't feel comfortable being home alone. She came right up and started timing them for me, sure enough every 4 minutes and some were harder than others. We put Asher down for his morning nap and I jumped into the shower and got ready to go to the hospital. We called David home around 10am. By the time he arrived, Uncle Larry was here and so was Grandma Jan. He changed his clothes and off to the hospital we went. Papa Wilbur was able to get a hold of Mema and she was going to meet us there. Sure enough, I got to stay this time and we were going to have a baby. What a day it was, all my(and Auntie Donna's) prayers were answered, a normal-no over the top excitement labor and delivery. The Lord even gave me a special devotional that day from Grandma Jan's daily devotional, His Princess, Love Letters from Your King which was:
My Princess...give me your plans
I know you have an idea in your head on how everything should unfold in your life. Even today you have an agenda. Because I love you, I need you to give Me back all your plans for today and for all your tomorrows. If you let Me have your day, I can then intervene with something special. My intervention will give you more joy in your journey than your good intentions. I know all that your heart longs for, and I want to do more for you than you could ever do for yourself. So give Me a chance to change your agenda from ordinary to EXTRAordinary, because that's the kind of life I've destined you to live, My beloved. Love, your King and your Planner
He took care of everything...my labor was easy, when the nurse broke my water - no myconium, the delivery(ejection) was fast and I was given my beautiful baby boy immediately to hold skin to skin, he even latched immediately. For those who had been praying for my doctor to deliver and for nurse Sharon to be my nurse, He even took care of that, nurse Sharon's best friend, Tanya stood in for her and the doctor who delivered was my stand in doctor who I had seen, like and trusted, Dr. Lebo. Couldn't have ask for a better, EXTRAordinary day. Isaac weighed 10.11, 2 ounces more than Asher, but was 21 inches long, 1/2 inch shorter than Asher. Isaac is overall smaller than Asher was, Isaac is smaller boned and is still trying to put his weight back on, he lost a pound and half in the first 2 days of life. He is back about 10 pounds, but barely. He is doing much better now.

Thank you Lord for Your faithfulness and this beautiful little gift you have entrusted to us. We look forward with great anticipation what you will do with this EXTRAordinary little boy.
I will try and post more often, but only if time permits. We got some great Easter pictures of Asher on his first Easter egg hunt.
