4 MONTHS OLD

I wasn't sure how this was going to go, he had just spit up almost his whole feeding and was so upset about it. But, he finally clammed down. I didn't push trying to get a smile, but I was able to get just one at the end.

It is just amazing to us how different the boys are from one another. Isaac is very laid back, not in a hurry and pretty easy going, BUT, yes big BUT, when he gets upset, look out, the dude has some serious lungs and there is no consoling the little guy. He will sometimes stop crying for his brother, but he just has to get over it all on his own which all the moms out there will understand, for me that is extremely hard. When they are so little, the momma should be able to console and help, but only in his time is that possible.

He will most likely get teeth early like his brother and is already working on sitting up all on his own. He is starting to turn over too. Asher never really practiced anything. I tried the ideas of putting something just out of his reach, but he just ignored it. Then one day, Asher just rolled over. Isaac has been working on rolling over for about a week or so now. I am thankful already for having them so close because I have already seen/remembered so many differences between the two. Today they were even 'playing' together - Isaac was in the saucer and Asher was throwing his ball around and they were both laughing. Isaac's 4 month check up is Tuesday, so I will post stats after that...

Happy 4th of July

We are so very thankful for the freedoms we have here in the USA. We thank the many service men who have made and are keeping it for us.

And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.~Lee Greenwood

This, then, is the state of the union: free and restless, growing and full of hope. So it was in the beginning. So it shall always be, while God is willing, and we are strong enough to keep the faith. ~Lyndon B. Johnson

Pool Fun

Today we went to the pool for lunch and some swimming. Asher hasn't been in the pool since last summer, so I was excited to see what he thought. As most things, he had NO FEAR what so ever. We had a blast. I had to laugh at some of the pictures, his and my expressions are the same. David and I laugh all the time now that Asher is talking, he says stuff just like I do, but I don't admit it right away. Just yesterday I said to David, I don't say, "No", like that and sure enough moments later, I caught myself. Having children can be very humbling. I am thankful the Lord is using my kids to teach me so much about myself, the good, the bad and the ugly! Gives me an opportunity to grow and laugh.

That "Cheese," cheesy smile.

Oooooo, cold!

Look at our face we're making, almost the same.

Jumping in the deep end! Such a big boy.

Tried to get a pic of those oh so pruned toes and feet.
Here's the Ice Man, just along for the ride.

Looking forward to going back to the pool very soon.

PS. we missed you Auntie Donna

More Three Month Pics and a Video

I realized the other night when I dressed Isaac for bed he was in the same outfit Asher wore for his 3 month picture, so we grabbed some more shots. David was here to help, so I was able to get his hands out of his mouth momentarily.

The video was just for fun. Isaac has truly found his voice. Looks like the Perea gene was skipped in this department...he is oh so loud just like his brother. Yesterday I was on the phone with Grandma Jan and she asked if Asher needed me, she heard the loud screaming in the back ground. No, no, it's NOT Asher, that's Isaac. She was pleasantly surprise - thought it was precious. I remember driving with Asher and his cousin Lauren in the car and Asher was talk-screaming so loud, Lauren was telling him to, "BE QUIET!" The other morning, Asher was watching veggies and Isaac was doing his vocal exercises when I turned to tell Isaac to "Shhh!" I noticed Asher had his hands over his ears.

As taken from my favorite Momma friend, my chidren make my life LOUD and lovely!

The squacking in the back ground is not a bird...it's Asher imitating his brother. I had to shorten the video quite a bit to upload, so I will get another one of his impressive vocals soon.
